Prerequisites

An enrolled POS, the correct restaurant and location, an authorised operator and a validated published menu. Cash actions also require the relevant permission and till setup.

Steps

  1. Check the location and connection state, then sign in as the operator using the till. Operator sign-in and attendance are separate: signing out of POS does not clock you out.
  2. In Sell, choose the service type and browse the menu. Select an item’s required variant or modifiers, add any preparation note and check its quantity and displayed total before adding it.
  3. For table service, use Tables to select the intended table and open session. Check the guest and round context before adding more work; earlier dispatched rounds stay separate.
  4. Review the basket and send the intended order or round once. Check its resulting state. If the answer is uncertain, follow POS recovery guidance before creating another order.
  5. When handling the bill, check the correct order or table session, its consolidated total and any split allocations. Review the remaining amount before recording a cash tender.
  6. Record the cash actually received and check the resulting tender and change. At till close, enter counted cash and review any variance with the authorised manager. A cancellation is not a financial refund.

Expected result

The intended order or round has a recorded state, and confirmed cash actions remain associated with the bill and till session.

If it doesn’t work

Do not repeat a tender when its outcome is uncertain. Stop and use the recovery guidance or contact your manager. Electronic card collection is not enabled in this release.
